Dr. Neil Farber is the Founder and Director of DHWI.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, he has lived in the United States for several years. He has an honors degree in Psychology graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and doctorate degrees in Pharmacology and Toxicology and Medicine graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. He is an Associate Professor specializing in Pediatric Anesthesiology. Dr. Farber has been the chairman of several hospital committees including the Medication Safety and Alternative Medicine Committees. He has given hundreds of lectures to medical students, residents and physicians on many topics in several countries, including medical ethics and conflict management. Dr. Farber has studied many martial arts and received Black belts and instructor certifications in several self-defense styles. He has taught classes and given seminars to many groups of children, teens and adults, including on college campuses. Dr. Farber has also been involved in practicing and teaching meditation and relaxation techniques for more than thirty years. [More on Martial Arts and Meditation].
Dr. Farber has overcome significant adversity including debilitating bouts of arthritis since childhood and low back and cervical (neck) spinal cord injuries, requiring surgeries and spinal cord rehabilitation twice. Although he was told more than once that he may be permanently disabled, he has been able to return to full and active physical activities. Dr. Farber is also a survivor of a long divorce process and has emerged mentally and emotionally happy and healthy; as have his children. [More on Overcoming Adversity].
Dr. Farber has been an advocate and devoted follower of the Positive Psychology movement since before it was a movement and integrates the principles of Positive Power into his daily life, seminars, and consulting.
